Below are the candidates for each open position:
* Michelle Gilbert, CFM - Planner, Atkins North America.
Michelle is currently serving as the NORFMA Chair. She is based in central Washington & in Lynnwood area with STARR II & the FEMA Region 10 Service Center.
* Sky Miller, PE - Cardno
Sky is currently serving as the NORFMA Treasurer. He is the PNW Restoration, Engineering, and Geomorphology Practice Lead with Cardno, based out of Seattle, WA.
* Colin Rowan - Levee Ready Columbia Program Director, Multnomah County Drainage District
Colin Rowan is the Levee Ready Columbia Program Director with Multnomah County Drainage District, leading the Levee Ready Columbia program, a multi-stakeholder regional partnership committed to modernizing our region’s levee system. Colin works at the nexus (confluence?) of floodplain management, policy, public affairs, technical analysis, and communications. Colin has a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, specializing in Transportation, from Portland State University, a master’s degree in History from Northeastern University, and bachelor’s degrees in Politics and History from Brandeis University. Colin has been a NORFMA member since 2015. He has helped organize a couple of event for Portland-area floodplain managers and is very interested in helping grow Oregon’s representation at NORFMA and to help lead a conversation throughout Oregon about floodplain management (especially about levees and other decaying flood risk reduction infrastructure). Outside work, Colin is an amateur bicycle racer, a shade tree mechanic, and spends his weekends renovating his 100-year old house with his wife, daughter, and two cats.
